Inside: Noosa Vibe House
5 minute read
In our series celebrating 20 years of our customers, we recently worked with the team at Culture Studio, in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Founded by four brothers (Nick, Rich, Joe, and Carlo) who wanted to create a better experience than they had as a retail brand, which led to a focus on customer service and quality.
Culture Studio was founded in 2008 as a retail brand and grew into a full-service production company with facilities in Chicago, Illinois, and Daytona Beach, Florida. Culture Studio is a technology driven, custom merchandise company that primarily serves the music and entertainment industries. They provide a full range of services, from product sourcing and design to high-volume production and direct-to-customer fulfilment for brands, creators, and enterprises.
We're incredibly proud of our relationship with a customer who is dedicated to innovation, quality, customer success, and team culture.
Why did you start decorating?
In 2003 we started our own brand and used to do it in our home. We struggled to find a good screen printer to execute our vision - so we learned how to do it ourselves and found that we are really good at manufacturing – that is how Culture Studio was born.
What sets your decoration and company apart from the rest in the industry?
Our infrastructure, talented individuals who are subject matter experts in each department, technology and our culture.
What is an interesting fact about your company?
Our production team is majority women.
What gets you out of bed in the morning / What keeps you motivated and passionate about what you do?
We love the hustle of music industry and all the amazing designs we get to create / produce. Also the motivation comes from our overarching goals of a 2 day ground ship across nation and building something that has never been done yet.
How do you think your region’s industry and scene are different from the rest of the world?
Chicago has a little bit of everything, large music scene, culture, and one of the largest airport hubs so you can quickly get product to anywhere in the country when needed.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
This company was built on our own, 4 brothers and that will always stand out to me and keep me proud.
What is a business challenge you faced and how did you overcome it?
In the music industry, there is a challenge every day, but we as a team overcome it and never miss a show.
How long have you been using AS Colour and what’s your favourite memory?
A good 10+ years. Oh, all those very special times when the demand is there to get product out fast so we can produce for a tour. We successfully get it out and product arrives with us in time to produce within 8 hours and ship out the same day. Those are special ones to us.
Who’s your go to person at AS Colour?
Harriett & team.
What embellishment are you using the most these days and why?
Obviously screen print, embroidery, but we do a large amount of mixed media with both and adding patches, appliques, foils, stones, new application called embroidery embossing that got a lot of attention this year.
What is one job that stands out, above the rest, for you in the history of your company?
Foo Fighters at Wrigley Field, when Dave Grohl broke his leg “one leg tour”. We printed for the entire tour and were invited backstage with passes that night and had a great experience.
What has changed the most since you first started this business?
Technology in a whole has really been able to help us succeed and streamline processes.
How would you describe AS Colour garments to another printer or customer who’s never used them before?
Very premium products, you can not go wrong with any style that is offered.
What excites you about the future?
We have big plans the next couple years.. More news to come.
